Diving in the Achensee
Even underwater the Achensee is a summer paradise. Who doesn’t want to believe it is invited to a diving extravaganza by Stephan Kobinger. This young proprietor is only too happy to indulge in his favorite hobby and accompanies his guests to the most amazing underwater attractions.
At the Hotel Post am See you will find the station for compressed air and NITROX-bottles at the Achensee. Those who are curious to get a glimpse of the underwater world can book a guided diving tour for 35. -- €. Diving equipment, trial diving in the pool and underage diving for children are other attractions of this sport.
Underwater attractions
Numerous Spots with sunken relicts add to the charm of the Achensee. Parcours by telephone, gondola and Jesus, at the Madonna on the way to the Dodge or the beetles. There are highlights available for all preferences and all degrees of difficulty.
The divers themselves put up a spectacular show around Christmas time when they sink their Christmas tree into the lake in front of the Hotel Post.
Diving rules in the Achensee
The Achensee is a private water body managed by the Boating Association Achensee-Schifffahrt. Consequently, the diving rules that apply are as follows.
- Diving is permitted only between 1. May and 31. October and in the earmarked zone. This stretch extends from the "Hechenberg" till the North end of the tunnel on the interstate road and is marked with “No diving“ signs.
- Diving permits are handed out only to certified divers. You can obtain yours from the Boating Association in Pertisau, the Hotel Post am See in Pertisau or the Camping area Schwarzenau.
