Trekking, hiking and mountain-climbing

This combination is no problem at the Achensee. The steep peaks of the Karwendel mountains pose a veritable challenge to any climber. Those who do not fancy risking their lives relying on a bit of rope, are best served by the trekking paths in Pertisau. The most varied degrees of difficulty and distances offer trekkers a plethora of excursion options.

Assisted mountain climbing:

Zwölferkopf, Karwendel, in Pertisau on the Achensee
Karwendel mountain train

Rofan, Maurach, Rofan mountains

Families with small children delight in the flat asphalted paths around the Achensee and into the Karwendel valleys. You can even hike with perambulators in the midst of nature. At the Hotel Post am See, we generally escort you once a week on a simple trek to the most beautiful places.

To the mountains by ropeway

Some treks begin by ropeway. In Pertisau, you can take the Karwendel mountain train instead of climbing to the top of the Zwölferkopf. In Maurach you can climb the Rofan with the Rofan ropeway. Both lifts lead to a ski area in winter. In summer, paragliders, kite fliers and trekkers happily avail of the help in reaching the top.

Guided tours and outdoor events are also very popular. The Achensee Tourism Office and several providers create a variety-filled program every year. The special highlight is the 24-hour-walk, organized once a year by the Tourism Office.

Another highlight of the Hotel Post is the Trekking week. Originally planned by Family Kobinger as an exclusive service for our guests, the controls now have passed over into the hands of our guests.

Every year in September, a sworn-in society of mountain-climbers meets to chart out the trekking program for the coming year.

You are cordially invited to join our trekking group!
