Thanks to a water temperature of just over 20 degrees, the Achensee itself can be splendidly refreshing on the hottest summer days. Hotel Post offers direct access to the lake via the hotel's own bathing jetty, while the newly developed waterside promenade next to the hotel invites you to jump into the cool water. If it does seem a little too cool to swim, the Hotel Post am See of course has an indoor pool and a heated outdoor pool for guests to enjoy.
Families with children will particularly like the bathing beach just a few minutes' walk from the hotel with plenty of lawn area for sunbathing, playground, water slide and climbing facilities. There are additional bathing beaches at the southern tip of the Achensee (Seespitz and Buchau), along the eastern shore (Schwarzenau and the Achenseehof) and on the northern tip (Achenkirch beach and lagoon). Entry to all bathing beaches is free, but you do need to pay to park.
Unlike other lakes that have a lot of private property along their shores, the Achensee is with a few exceptions freely accessible! That means you can always find a pleasant spot to cool off after a walk or a sunbathe, even away from the designated bathing areas.
