Lake Achensee and the Karwendel Nature Park are two of Tyrol’s top natural gems and need to be treated with care. The goal is preserve the beauty of this place for future generations. Every resident, guest and also hotel has an important role to play.
At the Hotel Post am See, we have a long tradition of environmental awareness. At the beginning of this century already, Reinhard Kobinger was interested in making a technical contribution to the protection of our environment. We were named LUXURY ECO-FRIENDLY HOTEL OF THE YEAR 2016 and 2018 by LTG, the Luxury Travel Guide from England.
The Ministerium für ein Lebenswertes Österreich (Ministry for a Livable Austria) also honored the Hotel Post am See this year. The hotel’s combined heat and power plant (CHP) system was of particular note in this regard. Our CHP is particularly efficient in converting gas into electricity and heat.
But it's not all about awards and trophies. It is the small, everyday details of hotel life, which we will continue to refine and expand, that are key to keeping the Achensee region a worthwhile destination. Protecting the environment has many facets: Waste separation (or even better avoidance), the use of eco-friendly cleaning agents and sustainable building materials, regional products from biodynamic agriculture, vegetable-rich cuisine, e-bikes for our guests...
